local sources in Idlib countryside had revealed the complete disappearance of the militants of the “Caucasian Soldiers” organization from their headquarters in the Jisr al-Shughur area in the southwestern Idlib countryside, and their gatherings in the northeastern countryside of Lattakia.
The sources confirmed that the retreat in the presence of armed soldiers in their areas of control took place in stages that were clearly noticed.
The sources added that the Caucasian Soldiers, unlike their peers from other Caucasian organizations in Syria, handed over their positions and military equipment to the “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” faction, the current front of the “Al-Nusra” organization in Idlib, which in turn handed them over to its strategic ally, the Turkistan Islamic Party.
The “Caucasian Soldiers” organization is one of the most prominent terrorist organizations that have maintained their ethnic cohesion in Syria, and its fighters and their families, along with a good number of other Caucasian organizations, are settled in the areas of northwestern Syria.
And the sources continued: “About two months ago, the Caucasian Jund fighters began to leave Idlib countryside towards Turkey in batches,” indicating coordination between Jabhat al-Nusra on the one hand, and the Turkish “gendarmerie” on the other hand.
The sources said that the available information confirms that dozens of militants from the Caucasus and North Caucasus countries who fought for years against the Syrian army within the "Caucasus Soldiers" organization, left towards Ukraine after facilities, temptations and guarantees, including their transfer with their families to Ukraine.
