Turkey goes after foreign Muslim Brotherhood: terrorist operations in Egypt, money laundering and support for Daesh in Syria.
A major scandal has broken out in Turkey involving an unknown number of foreign Muslim Brotherhood members living in that country. Their charges seem very heavy and mark a reversal in the official policy of Turkey, especially since the power is part of this organization which has many relays in the Arab world, and even in the West.
According to Arab media, citing well-informed sources, the Turkish intelligence services have investigated members of this Brotherhood residing on Turkish territory, concerning, among other things, terrorist operations perpetrated in Egyptian cities, their alleged support for Daesh, as well as their involvement in money laundering offences. This resulted in arrests and deportations.
Deportation for activities in Egypt
Regarding the first case, the investigation focused on the extent of the involvement of elements of the Brotherhood in terrorist operations in Egypt and on the way in which they were planned from outside the country.
The biggest surprise is that Ankara has expelled a number of its members from the country in the last 90 days due to their links with armed organizations and collecting donations for the families of highly dangerous elements. who carried out terrorist operations in Egypt.
money laundering
Turkish intelligence investigations also revealed that members of the Brotherhood in Turkey and other elements traveled to the British capital, London, in order to carry out money laundering operations there.
They would also have transferred, in recent months, large sums of money of unknown origin to banks in London and the United States. These transfers would have taken place after the liquidation of a number of their companies.
Some Muslim Brotherhood leaders who lived in Turkey are also accused of involvement in systematic money laundering operations on its soil.
Support for Daesh in Syria
Some members of the foreign Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey also reportedly came into contact with Daesh in Syria and provided it with financial support in previous periods. Donations, funds and associations affiliated with the Brotherhood have reportedly provided assistance to families affiliated with Daesh and some of its members through Syrian mediators.
The investigations also proved the involvement of elements of the Muslim Brotherhood in spying on Arab communities in Turkey and gathering information about them, and their involvement in recruiting young men to gather information about these communities. . The aim was to send them to the various conflict zones, particularly in Syria and Libya.
The Turkish security services have closed several Brotherhood-affiliated associations that were linked to relief work in these two countries, due to their involvement in activities aimed at supporting terrorist elements, and not for charitable purposes.
Illegal organ transplants and tampering
There is also talk that members of the CFM are suspected of having opened hospitals in Turkey whose main task was to carry out organ transplants, via illegal methods, on behalf of foreign personalities.
Others were arrested for falsifying residence cards and passports for Syrians and nationals of other nationalities, in exchange for sums of money..
